Born in 1919, La Vittoria restaurant is just a few steps from Piazza San Pietro. From its outside tables it is possible, on Sunday, to attend the Angelus and even to observe the Holy Father looking out of the window intent on celebrating Mass.
The cuisine proposed by this restaurant is Mediterranean with some incursions in the typical Roman gastronomic tradition: Carbonara, Amatriciana, Saltimbocca alla Romana, Roman artichokes, Abbacchio, Puntarelle and Chicory. The ingredients vary according to seasonality and market trends, with fresh vegetables and fruit, selected meats and fresh fish.
Among the various specialties we point out some really tantalizing dishes such as Fusilli alla Califfa "Spices and Pancetta", Fettuccine alla Vittoria "based on Salmon and Porcini Mushrooms" and Rigatoni with Mussels creamed in Pecorino. Among the main courses, the Tagliata di Tuna with rocket and cream of balsamic vinegar "we recommend booking." To finish in sweetness, let's point out the desserts, all delicious and homemade, the Toscanella cake, with secret ingredients that we highly recommend to try it!
